Doug started playing guitar at the age of 13. He began studying classical at 14 with Juan Albarracin Jordan and at the age of 17 was under the wing of Segovia understudy Carlo Pezzimenti. Throughout his time studying classical he also attended master class series with Christopher Parkening and Angel Romero.

Doug was always into the rock and metal guitar at that age and at 17 made a decision to hot the road with a few acts and test the waters.

After a year of touring he realized his true calling was to do session work. At the age of 17 for local TV and radio commercial spots as well as filling spots on recording projects for local band demos. At the early age of 14 he was inspired by Session superstar Tommy Tedesco. At the age of 15 Doug accompanied Tommy Tedesco during a master class assisting him with playing examples. Doug felt the emotion and attitude that came from Tommy was a better connection for him.

Over the years Doug has recorded for film, TV and radio and was a regular for the Dallas Based Classical Station WRR.Over the years he has played with hundreds of acts and shared the stage with  Pantera,  Clint Strong,  Gimapiero Scuderi, Jamal Mohammed, Debra Sue Moffat, George Lynch, Al Giordono of Wild Cherry,  Emerald City  and a huge grouping of a-list talent! 

After years of recording all over the country a finger injury slowed down his playing and he started focusing on creating educational materials for guitar players. He sold 65K copies of an E-Book series that he has turned into his Absolute Basics Series.

Doug is still active in session work and is currently working on an album that will be released in May of 2012

Doug used myspace as a portal to test the response to songs and would throw tunes that were recorded on the fly to see the reaction fom listeners. If the response he recieved is any indication of what the masses think his album will be a huge sucess! He has over 1.9 million plays and counting!
