Keep Your Head Up!
To all the guitar players, musicians, artists, and great minds " NEVER GIVE UP!"
Here are a few little tips I want to share with you no matter what journey your life takes you on.
-Do it because you want to not because someone else expects you to. If you are not getting paid, having fun, or doing it for future work don't do it!
-You will become those you associate with: ..If your friends have no motivation ,dreams, or goals you will lead the same lifeless path
If you want to be a country musician meet successful people in that industry
If you want to be a stock broker meet successful stockbrokers and investors
Immerse yourself and surround yourself with successful people in your field or industry
-You have two choices in life.. lead or follow. Choose wisely who you follow and be responsible and respectful to those you lead
-Your dreams are yours and you are the only one that can be held responsible for living them or losing them
-No matter how bad your life is going keep your focus and stay on track. It may hurt to suffer during hard times but the pain is intolerable when you spend the rest of your life wishing you had not given up or wishing you had taken the risk
-Guard yourself and realize the value of what you have and treat it like a million dollars..... When you have nothing in the beginning no one will help you out,but when you start to build something you will have a million friends with their hands out claiming they have always been there for you through thick and thin. Kick them in the ass and toss them to the curb
-You will never be able to please everyone so do not try. Not everyone will like your music, art, or idea. Do not waste your time trying. for every 100 that do not like it there are 100 more in the world that will. Find them!
-Write a book about your life. Start with the beginning until now, then write how you want it to be. Start from now and follow the trail you have written. Read that book everyday and keep your dreams in the front of your mind
-Even locked in a 5X9 cell you still have the freedom to think, dream, and plan. No one can ever take that away from you except you!
-Being the best doesn't mean you will get anywhere. Working hard, being passionate, and staying motivated will get you everywhere. Love what you do and do it and the rest will follow
-Critics are everywhere. Critics are friends with jealousy problems, siblings that dont have half of what you have, and employers that can't keep their doors open. Critics are those who have done nothing with their lives and want to bring everyone down with them.
Critics are parasites of mediocrity and they are a waste of your time and effort.
The best way to understand critics is by this quote from actress Tyne Daly "A critic is someone who never actually goes to the battle, yet afterwards comes out shooting the wounded
It only takes two seconds to change the world. But sometimes it can take a lifetime to fix what you screwed up in two seconds.

-You cannot put a value on a human life and your friends are the only thing you can take with you. Materialism will not win over people, most of the time it turns them away. Your attitude and concern for others in making them better at whatever you share will. Music is only a tool and expression of your passion that you share with others and in turn can make each other better at.
-Practice, passion etc and helping others get good at what you share along with supporting and lifting them up in turn will only make both of you a better person and better at what you share despite differences in Religion, Political beliefs and weather or not you like freeking mayo or mustard on your burger... come on... everybody likes hamburgers!!!
-It’s interesting how society naturally turns towards the negative in conversation. If you bring up one positive thing or characteristic about whatever it is that you are discussing, most people will act as if it is a breath of fresh air and follow you into the positive. If you are going to be a leader, lead others into the positive.
If you can put what Doug said into context, then you are someone I'd love to hang out and jam with. No matter who they are, do not allow yourself to be at awwww in a person who is going to bring you down no matter what they do!
